Blair welcomes the Dover Quartet and Edgar Meyer to Ingram Hall

Celebrated string ensemble the Dover Quartet will we joined by double bass star Edgar Meyer for a special collaborative concert event, Monday, April 7, 2025, 8:00 p.m. in Ingram Hall.

The Dover Quartet has been hailed “one of the greatest string quartets of the last 100 years” by BBC Music Magazine and “the next Guarneri Quartet” by the Chicago Tribune. Nominated for two Grammy Awards, the group is one of the world’s most in-demand chamber ensembles. The Dover Quartet’s 2025 season includes premiere performances throughout North America of newly commissioned works by Jerod Impichchaachaaha’ Tate, a citizen of the Chickasaw Nation and a leading composer of American Indian classical music

Edgar Meyer’s astonishing accomplishments as both a musician and composer include seven Grammy Awards (with 10 nominations) and seamlessly displaying a range of styles that encompasses classical, bluegrass, newgrass, and jazz. His exhaustive list of collaborators includes Joshua Bell, Hilary Hahn, Yo-Yo Ma, Tessa Lark, Jerry Douglas, Béla Fleck, Zakir Hussain, Sam Bush, Stuart Duncan, Chris Thile, Mike Marshall, Mark O’Connor, Christian McBride, and Emanuel Ax.
