Welcome to the Vanderbilt University Archives!

The mission of the University Archives is to preserve the historical memory of the university and to make this information available, primarily, to the Vanderbilt community and, secondarily, to the world at large. This is achieved through the collection and preservation of historical Vanderbilt university records and artifacts.

The University Archives is part of the Special Collections and University Archives library.  The University Archives are physically located at an off-site storage facility. The archives has approximately 14,000 linear feet of university records stored in the building. These archives range in time from the founding of the university to near the present day.

If you have questions about research in the University Archives or about the archives in general, please contact us!
