Central /Divinity building
The sixth floor is the designated quiet study floor, which includes two large reading rooms (the Payne Graduate Study Room, and the Periodicals Reading Room) as well as several renovated alcoves.
The Cheek Reading Room in the Divinity Library is also a designated quiet study area.
Law Library
The Tarkington Reading Room on the top floor of the library and the Study Carrel room adjacent to the Main Reading Room are used for quiet study. There are no officially designated quiet study areas.
Music Library
The spaces around the bound periodical and scores stacks are designated as quiet study areas.
Peabody Library
The Fireside Reading Room and the Grand Reading Room are quiet study spaces designated for individual study, research, reading, and quiet contemplation.
The Grand Floor Project Room, 1st Floor Café area, Learning Commons Computer Lab (Room 304), Peabody Library Café Patio, Curriculum Materials Center + Youth Collection, and Design Studio are collaborative spaces designed for group work, discussions, interactive learning, or individuals seeking ambient noise while studying.
Science Library
The entire library is generally quiet. The study carrels around the stacks and the Reading Room in the back of the library tend to be most quiet. There are no officially designated quiet study areas.
