On October 9, the Vanderbilt Institute of Nanoscale Science and Engineering (VINSE) celebrated National Nanotechnology Day, showcasing the remarkable innovations at the nanometer scale (10^-9 meters).
The event included guided window tours of VINSE’s cutting-edge cleanroom, showcasing the pioneering research conducted at the institute. Attendees were treated to Ben & Jerry’s ice cream and participated in raffles for exclusive VINSE merchandise.

Our 100 billion nanometer race was close with Zack Wallace (left) edging ahead against Ben Ward (right). There are 1 billion nanometers [1,000,000,000 nm] in 1 meter, so 100 billion nanometers = 100 meters
A special thanks to our Tech Crew—Carson Felton, David Guiracocha, and Rafael Rodas—for their invaluable contributions to making this event a success.
