What is Prepare to Practice? How is this program different from law school classes or services offered at Career Services?

Each semester, Vanderbilt Law Library hosts speakers for the Prepare to Practice series, which is designed to enrich and supplement Vanderbilt law students’ educational and professional experience. By connecting students with practicing attorneys and legal professionals, students gain valuable insight into current practice trends and issues in the profession before they enter into the field for summer or post-graduate work.

Past guests have included practicing attorneys, law firm executives, faculty members, legal research experts, legal technology vendors, and local judges.

Prepare to Practice exists to give students access to the professional world before they step into it. Every year, a new theme will be presented and fresh topics will be offered. As trends change and technology develops, the law library will provide programming that will give our students insight that would not otherwise be provided in the law school experience.
