Reed Showalter
Reed Showalter is Senior Fellow at the Vanderbilt Policy Accelerator. He was previously Senior Policy Advisor for Competition at the White House National Economic Council where he proposed and implemented competition policy across dozens of federal agencies. He previously served at the Department of Justice in the Antitrust Division and the Office of Legislative Affairs as well as serving at the Federal Trade Commission as a litigator and policy attorney. He was a member of the House Antitrust Subcommittee staff during its Digital Markets Investigation of monopoly power in Big Tech. Outside government, he practiced law privately at the Kanter Law Group, a boutique competition law firm focused on pro enforcement policy and litigation. He is a Chicago native splitting time between DC and Illinois.
