UPDATE: COVID-19 workforce exposure, infection, and return-to-work guidelines
On Dec. 2, the CDC updated its "When to Quarantine" guidelines shortening the quarantine period from 14 days to 7-10 days because studies demonstrate a minimal chance of spread after day 10. Consequently, VUMC has now updated its workforce exposure, infection, and return-to-work infographic and FAQs to reflect that a workforce member who has been exposed to a confirmed COVID-19 positive household contact they are able to return to work after quarantining for 7 days IF they have: developed no COVID-19 symptoms and the workforce member has a confirmed negative SARS-CoV-2 PCR test. When returning to work the workforce member must follow additional guidance, like wearing a surgical mask at all times, to minimize the risk of health care-associated spread of COVID-19. View...
