Dear Colleagues and Friends of the Donate Life Community,
It is with both gratitude and excitement that we announce that G. David Fleming, President & CEO of Donate Life America (DLA), has informed the board of his intention to retire from his role by the end of 2026.
For 30 years, David has led DLA’s mission to educate, inspire and activate the public to say yes to registering their decision to be an organ, eye and tissue donor. Under his leadership, the organization has strengthened its partnerships, expanded its national footprint, and delivered tangible results in donor registration and awareness through public education and innovative campaigns.
As we prepare for this transition, the Board will begin a comprehensive process to identify a successor who can build on DLA’s strong foundation and lead the organization into its next chapter. David will remain engaged through the transition period to ensure continuity, offer guidance, and help bring the new leader on board.
2025 has been a momentous year for Donate Life America. We have successfully launched the Epic MyChart program, offering millions of people a new trusted pathway for donor registration through their patient portal, and the Donate Life Living Donor Pathway, a two-year national pilot program to help reduce barriers and save more lives through living kidney donation.
On behalf of the Board of Directors, DLA staff, Donate Life State Teams and their members, and National Partners, we extend our heartfelt thanks to David for his commitment, vision and leadership. We also look forward with optimism to this new chapter in DLA’s work to save and heal lives.
We will share further details about transition timing and next steps in the coming weeks. In the meantime, please join us in expressing your appreciation and best wishes to David as he moves toward this important milestone.
