Making Adoption Magic
Since 1946, Nashville Humane Association has dedicated our efforts to aiding sick, homeless and at-risk shelter pets in Nashville, throughout Middle Tennessee, and across the globe.
Voted “Nashville’s Favorite Place to Adopt” year-over-year, we pride ourselves on our 98% save rate and making thousands of new families each year, all while focusing our mission on assisting pets and pet-people throughout our community.

Lifesaving Statistics
Nashville Humane has been saving lives in Nashville, Middle Tennessee, and across the globe for more than 75 years.
With a save rate of 98%, we are a safe haven for homeless and at-risk pets throughout our community.
Thanks to our transport program we’re able to assist 70 urban and rural shelters not only in our backyard but throughout Tennesse and beyond!

These two adoptable pupperdogs were invited to their Town Hall this morning to greet all of the Associates and Ambassadors to raise adoption awareness. They received much love, nibbled on many tasty treats, plus took many pictures to promote on social media that they’re both looking for pawfect “Dogs Rule” Forever Homes! They even had “Adopt Me” business cards made for them. It was such a welcoming and wonderful day!
Seymour and Sunny are now back at NHA, napping, dreaming, and hoping you’ll come visit them. What will make their day even better? Getting Adopted! So, please: come meet them both and make their dreams come true!

Foster families are essential members of the Nashville Humane Association family and are critical to the care we provide!
Because shelters like NHA have limited capacity, the number of lives we help depends entirely on the number of fosters willing to open their homes to them. That includes many of our current residents who are in immediate need of a foster home!

#RainbowBridgeRemembranceDay: Mochi🌈
Our beloved office cat, Mochi, crossed The Rainbow Bridge in June. He may no longer be physically with us, but the memories of "The Moch Man" will forever live on in our hearts, and he will always be a cherished part of our Nashville Humane Association family. His new NHA job is being a Guardian Angel to all of our cats and kittens looking for their forever homes. Next time you visit NHA, please say hello to Mochi`s picture in our Cat Showroom. That would truly make Team NHA purr knowing that you were thinking about him too.

A unicorn foster is someone who has the perfect environment for an animal that has specific requirements in a home. This could mean that you have no kids, no other pets, a fenced-in yard, or maybe you don’t have visitors over often.
We always have countless dogs in our care that are overlooked on our adoption floor because they need a specific home to thrive! The shelter is an extremely loud and stressful environment that stops these animals from showing us, and adopters, their true personalities.
There are so many benefits to opening your heart and home to a foster animal, not just for them but the foster too.
