VUMC's ExpeditionTech: A mid-year update

It is time to celebrate -- we are halfway through 2021, and together with your support, ExpeditionTech is making significant progress on the journey toward establishing independent, secure, and modern technology environments for the future of VUMC.

Current Accomplishments

Most recently, the program completed the move of more than 38,000 personal devices (BYOD) to Microsoft Mobile Application Management (MAM) and/or Mobile Device Management (MDM). This ensures the security of Outlook Email & calendaring and other Microsoft applications when accessed from personal devices.

We’ve remediated 7.5 terabytes of email archives (PST files) to our cloud email environment, which provides better access, security, and retention.

There is also an immense amount of work being completed behind the scenes in preparation for several initiatives in the coming months. Later this month, we begin the migration necessary to standardize OneDrive for Business as our individual file-sharing, cloud storage, and collaboration solution.
