Fittings for Prestige N95 respirators available
VUMC is implementing use of a new N95 respirator, the Prestige Ameritech. Use of the 3M 8210 and 3M 1860s respirators will be discontinued, and they will no longer be provided once VUMC staff are transitioned into the new Prestige styles.
You will need to be fitted with the new Prestige N95 respirator if you are required to wear an N95 for your job duties and have not already been fit tested with the new Prestige Ameritech N95 respirator.
HOW TO SCHEDULE
Sign up for an ANNUAL REFIT fit test session if you have:
- been medically cleared, trained, and fit-tested to wear an N95 at VUMC before
- just been added to the N95 program due to new COVID-19 regulatory requirements and received and completed an assigned N95 training LMS and N95 medical clearance (ensure to bring proof of your completed LMS certificate and medical clearance to your scheduled appointment time)
Sign up for an INITIAL fit test session if you have:
- never been N95 trained, medically cleared, or fit tested here at VUMC before, and were NOT assigned the N95 Training and Medical Clearance in LMS (see above)
- Missed your opportunity to be fit tested as part of your new staff Orientation, or it wasn’t offered as part of your onboarding
- Were NOT assigned the N95 Training and Medical Clearance LMS that only certain approved VUMC staff members were assigned

DEPARTMENTAL FIT TESTING
Do you have at least 15 or more staff who are having trouble leaving their work areas for fit testing at the OCRS office?
If so, you can email respirator@vumc.org to request a departmental fit test at your location. The session lengths are based on the number of staff that need to be fitted and can be between 30 minutes to an hour or more, as feasible.
In your request ensure to provide:
- The Department name/number for the group of staff being fitted
- How many staff need to be fitted
- If this session will be for Annual Refits or Initial (first timers)
- The location and room accommodations we would be using for fit testing, including the size of the space
Please keep in mind that the number of staff attending this fit test session should be responsibly certain. OCRS will work with you to determine the best time to offer the sessions, so we can ensure to get full attendance of the staff.
