Event for dual language speakers interested in medical interpretation is tomorrow

Speakers of dual languages can become acquainted with a new training program for medical interpreters during a happy hour social on Feb. 23.

Vanderbilt University Medical Center (VUMC) Interpreter Services launched the program last year in collaboration with the Tennessee Foreign Language Institute to establish a pipeline of prospective interpreters for VUMC and other healthcare organizations. The two-semester program focuses on medical terminology and health care protocols for interpreters.

The happy hour social is from 4:30 to 6 p.m. on Feb. 23 at East Nashville Beer Works. Email ITS@TFLI.org for more information.
