Colleagues share AI, predictive analytics ideas in new IdeaShare Innovation Challenge
IdeaShare re-opened last week as part of a new innovation challenge on how Vanderbilt can use artificial intelligence and predictive analytics to improve our health system and care for patients.
Since then, nearly 50 colleagues have submitted more than 60 ideas, which have resulted in 728 page views and 170 “likes.”
Ideas that have garnered the most attention include:
- Deploy float teams and people in areas based on predictions of potential demand and on-demand indicators of demand.
- Translate dictation live in the visit to a draft encounter summary ready for edits and attestation.
- Use a current note, past data on a patient, and historical data on similar patients to offer clinicians new prescriptions and laboratory tests for consideration.
Now through April 15, everyone at VUMC can participate and share their ideas – no idea is too small. Participation at any level – sharing, commenting or “liking” ideas – is quick and easy using desktop and mobile devices.
The ideas that rise to the top will be shared with teams for development in fiscal year 2019.
Begin sharing your ideas today, and tell your colleagues to do the same. To get started, visit www.mc.vanderbilt.edu/strategic-directions/.
