Update to communication type within eStar InBaskets
On May 24, an update will be made to eStar InBaskets that will change the “Telephone” encounter type to a broader “Communication” encounter type. Many areas across the Medical Center were using the Telephone Encounter to capture patient care that was occurring between visits—not only for its intended purpose of patient phone calls. This change will allow InBasket functionality to support more types of workflows and reasons for communications.
Some highlights of this change include:
· Replacing all references to “patient call” with “communication”
· Related messages will now appear in the Communications folder
· Simplifying reasons for communication
· Allowing comments field to be used for additional details
· Combining Call Intake and Take Action (now Take Action)
· Pinning Reasons for Communication to top of workflow
· Making Details visible in open encounters
