AlertVU test scheduled for Sept. 7

Vanderbilt University Public Safety will conduct a test of the AlertVU emergency notification system on Tuesday, Sept. 7, at 2 p.m.

AlertVU rapidly sends notification messages in the event of an imminent threat or danger to the Vanderbilt community, such as a tornado or active shooter.

All Vanderbilt University and Medical Center students, faculty and staff are automatically enrolled in the system using their University and Medical Center email addresses. Employees can register other contact points, such as cell or home phone numbers or personal email accounts to receive AlertVU messages* when they are away from their Vanderbilt email accounts.

Medical Center employees will be directed to C2HR. Instructions on how to update your contact information in C2HR is available on the AlertVU website.

Additionally, Medical Center employees are urged to enroll in non-emergency communications concerning hospital operations. These messages may include information about network outages, facility maintenance, etc. To opt-in to receive these notifications, update your information through C2HR – instructions are available on the AlertVU website.

For more information on AlertVU, contact Jessamyn Davis (jessamyn.davis@vanderbilt.edu).

For information regarding non-emergency Medical Center communications, contact Tim Hunter (tim.hunter@vumc.org).
