2020 Research Forum set for virtual presentation on June 11
Vanderbilt University Medical Center’s 38th Annual Research Forum provides an opportunity for trainees in the health professions at VUMC to present research conducted at Vanderbilt. Hosted annually by the Office of Graduate Medical Education and House Staff Advisory Council, the 2020 Forum is open to all Vanderbilt University School of Medicine students, nursing students, pharmacy students and Center for Programs in Allied Health students.
More than 160 abstracts were reviewed by a panel of faculty members who are actively involved in clinical and basic science research. This year with COVID-19 and social distancing, there will be a pre-recorded presentation in the setting of the Department of Medicine Grand Rounds from 8-9 a.m. on Thursday, June 11.
The overall top abstract selected will be awarded the Elliot V. Newman Prize. The Grant Liddle Award, which honors a faculty member who demonstrates exemplary leadership in the promotion of scientific research, will also be announced during the forum. House staff vote annually on this faculty award. Dr. Christianne Roumie, 2019 recipient of the Liddle Award, is the moderator for this year’s forum.
