Christy Claiborne named Social Worker of the Year for VUMC

Christy Claiborne, MSSW, LCSW, was named VUMC's Carolyn Edwards Social Worker of the Year in a recent online meeting that took the place of the usual recognition in March as part of the Medical Center's observance of Social Work Month.

Nominees for the award were solicited in January, and included Taylor Williams, Mary Schaefer, Kim Wilson, Megan Bergfeld, Danielle Lacosse, Anne Lacy, Esther Alcorn, Richard Unthank, Leslie Spence, Ashley Baltes, Jill Thomas, Faye Johnson, Debbie Wollek-Marshall, Maura Webb, Larry Prisco, and Cate Mart.

The Carolyn Edwards Social Worker of the Year Award honors a social worker within the Transition Management Department who exemplifies the best of the profession’s values and achievements through specific accomplishments.
