VUMC experts interviewed by Wall Street Journal, USA Today, NBC News, more

In the past few days, William Schaffner, MD, professor of Preventive Medicine, has given interviews for stories about coronavirus, the influenza vaccine, Los Angeles County cancelling trick-or-treating and AstraZeneca pausing its vaccine trial. Among the outlets he has spoken with: NBC News, The Wall Street Journal, CNN, KJZZ News, Verywell Health, USA Today and Voice of America.

New York Times columnist Margaret Renkl is writing a firsthand experience story about being a donor in the PassItOn convalescent plasma trial at VUMC.

JAMA Medical News reporter Jennifer Abbasi interviewed Kathryn Edwards, MD, scientific director, Vanderbilt Vaccine Research Program, for a story about  SARS-CoV-2 mRNA vaccines. 

Fox News reporter Amy McGorry interviewed Romney Humphries, PhD, Clinical Microbiology Laboratory Director and professor of Pathology, Microbiology and Immunology, for a story about the accuracy of coronavirus rapid tests. The story was also picked up by the New York Post.

Reader’s Digest reporter Mandy Gardner interviewed Loren Lipworth, ScD, research professor of Medicine, for a story about whether there will be a second coronavirus virus wave.
