eStar Update: Revised DVT/VTE prophylaxis BPA for adult medicine patients

To better streamline the DVT/VTE Prophylaxis order entry for Adult Medicine patient population, a revised BPA will be available October. This will apply to all inpatient VUH Providers who enter orders for DVT/VTE Prophylaxis for Adult Medicine patients.

 End user feedback helped to drive this improved VTE clinical decision support, which includes:

*  Most patients on therapeutic anticoagulation will no longer trigger VTE prophylaxis BPA

*  End users will have ability to select contraindications and exclusions from within BPA window

*  Instruction text has been updated to increase clarity
