eStar Direct icon coming to VUMC on Dec. 4

A new way to access eStar will be available on Dec. 4. The new icon, known as “eStar Direct,” will help users more quickly log into eStar for patient care activities. Users should also experience improved responsiveness within Hyperspace by using the new icon.

The eStar Direct icon will be available via the VMWare virtual desktop interface (VDI). Using eStar Direct will help users log directly into eStar and bypass the additional step of opening a separate virtual desktop.

Users who require access to other clinical applications available on the virtual desktop, such as SECTRA’s IDS7 client, may need to have a separate desktop window open as well for accessing these applications.

Users may continue logging into eStar via the virtual desktop as needed.
