Volunteers needed for research into how children who are deaf or hard of hearing learn to read

The Brain Development Lab (James Booth, PhD, PI) is looking for children, 10 to 13 years of age, who are deaf or hard of hearing for a study that examines how children learn to read.

This study will involve two visits, each lasting about 1.5 hours. The first visit will be on the Peabody campus and the second at the Vanderbilt Institute for Imaging Sciences.

Visits involve playing computer games, standardized tests, fMRI imaging and a hearing test.

Families will receive their child’s test scores, a brain image and compensation for their time.

Find out if your child is eligible to participate by completing this short questionnaire.
