Second phase of Managed Print machine replacement project to begin soon

VUMC's managed print vendor, CynergisTek, has completed assessments with all areas scheduled to receive new equipment in Phase II of the plan to upgrade the Medical Center's copiers. CynergisTek will begin preparations for installations during the second week of April, and will be contacting the departments affected as needed. This phase will likely take about a month to complete.

Changes have been made to the process in order to make it more user-friendly, particularly with regard to training.  CynergisTek has created a document covering the basic functions of each machine that can be kept as a reference. In addition, immediately after each installation a trainer from Canon, VUMC's hardware vendor, will be in touch to make sure all staff members understand how to operate the equipment and to answer any questions. Additional training can be requested at any time. CynergisTek and Canon will also be consulting with VUMC IT as needed to minimize any downtime during the transition.

This process will move VUMC further toward the goal of managing costs through device consolidation and updated technologies.
