Anesthesiology Research Symposium to be May 4
The 14th annual Anesthesiology Research Symposium will be held Friday, May 4, in Light Hall and the Student Life Center. The event highlights the current research of the Department of Anesthesiology's basic science investigators, physician scientists, research nurses and medical students.
From 6:30-7:30 a.m. in 208 Light Hall, Hugh Hemmings, Jr., MD, PhD, will present the Grand Rounds/BH Robbins Lecture on the topic “The Synaptic Pharmacology of General Anesthetics.” Hemmings is the Joseph F. Artusio, Jr., Professor and Chair of Anesthesiology, professor of pharmacology, senior associate dean for Research at Weill Cornell Medicine and anesthesiologist-in-chief at NewYork-Presbyterian Hospital/Weill Cornell Medical Center. He also serves as editor-in-chief of the British Journal of Anaesthesia.
Following the lecture, activities continue in the Student Life Center Board of Trust Room and Boardroom C, with poster presentations and scientific talks.
