New eStar class on document scanning offered

Over the last several weeks, a team working under the direction of the eStar Stabilization Oversight Group made tremendous progress in addressing a backlog of document scanning errors that originally totaled more than 8,600 errors. To help ensure this backlog does not return, the team has put together detailed training for anyone working in the Medical Center who accesses forms or scans documents into a patient’s medical record.

After attending “eStar Live: MedEx and Scanning 100,” users will be able to:

  • Properly use MedEx to access/print forms
  • Use tools to set favorites for commonly used forms
  • Utilize proper methods for scanning and document upload
  • Speed up availability of information in a patient’s medical record
  • Avoid potential errors

Who should attend? Anyone at VUMC who accesses forms or scans documents into a patient’s medical record, including nurses, clinicians, administrative assistants and patient service specialists.

Available beginning the week of May 1 and required for all new hires, this class will be offered at convenient times. Register today in the Learning Exchange (search “MedEx”).
