VUMC sources quoted by ABC News, NBC News, The Atlantic, more

William Schaffner, MD, professor of Preventive Medicine, continues to be one of the most in-demand sources about COVID-19, influenza and other subjects in the news. Among the news organizations he has spoken with recently: ABC News, CNNMSNBC, USA Today, The Chicago Tribune,  Radio Health Journal and Healthline.

NBC News interviewed Buddy Creech, MD, director, Vanderbilt Vaccine Research Program, for stories about second COVID-19 vaccine doses - the challenges of getting people to return for these required shots. Creech also spoke to NBC News for a story about the new Johnson & Johnson vaccine.

Tina Hartert, MD, MPH, vice president for Translational Science and professor of Medicine, is quoted in The Atlantic in a story headlined, “Why kids might be key to reaching herd immunity.”
