VUMC Limited Submission Opportunity: NIH Emergency Awards: RADx-rad Data Coordination Center; deadline is Aug. 25
NIH Emergency Awards: RADx-rad Data Coordination Center (DCC) (U24 Clinical Trial Not Allowed)
Applications due August 25
VUMC: These instructions are for VUMC investigators. The VU deadline has passed; VU investigators should address any questions to VU-LSO@vanderbilt.edu.
Overview:
VUMC may submit 1 application to the NIH RADx-rad Data Coordination Center (DCC) funding opportunity. This emergency FOA provides an expedited funding mechanism as part of the Rapid Acceleration of Diagnostics-Radical (RADx-rad) initiative. The NIH developed the RADx-rad initiative to support new, or non-traditional applications of existing approaches, to enhance their usability, accessibility, and/or accuracy.
Specifically, this FOA seeks to fund a single cooperative agreement for a DCC to serve as a communication center and data hub for RADx-rad awardees. The RADx-rad Data Coordination Center (DCC) will provide overarching support and guidance to RADx-rad awardees in the following three areas: (1) Administrative Operations and Logistics, (2) Data Collection, Integration and Sharing, and (3) Data Management and Use.
The DCC will be the “hub” in a hub-and-spoke organizational framework within RADx-rad, and the spokes, in this framework, will be the funded RADx-rad projects. Further, the DCC will also serve as a spoke in the larger NIH initiatives by providing deidentified individual data to an NIH-based data center. The DCC, will provide management, direction, and overall coordination of the RADx-rad awardees as it relates to data management and common data elements. The DCC will also serve as a liaison between the RADx-rad awardees and other NIH-supported RADx initiatives.
Specific objectives of the DCC are outlined in detail on the funding opportunity announcement.
