New "infection" flag in eStar Patient Header

On Aug. 29, a change was made in eStar that allows for a new “Infection” flag in the Patient Header. This new flag will allow users in outpatient clinics to see patients with certain infections or contagious situations.

The new flag was added to help manage the spread of infections both within the Medical Center, as well as the communities we serve. The flag appears as “Infection: Contagious (see comments)” and is clickable to reveal documentation of what kind of contagious issue is associated with the patient. The flag is added by Infection Prevention (IP) and is read-only.

Providers and clinical staff should remember to screen every patient at every visit for fever, cough and travel.

Please review the Tip Sheet “Infection Flag for Outpatient” (available within Learning Home Dashboard and Hubbl) for screenshots and more information.
