Lindsay Grisanti named VUMC Social Worker of the Year

Nominations for social worker of the year were submitted across many different disciplines throughout the hospital, highlighting the value of social workers and their skills to team members and patients. This year’s nominees were: Shelby Payne, Danielle LaCoss, Lindsay Grisanti, Richard Unthank, Taylor Williams, Tasheba Thornton, Amy Blount, Ashley Baltes, Elizabeth Robinson, Ashley Townsend, Carla Jackson, and Raven O’Rourke.
This year’s winner is Lindsay Grisanti, who works in the Vanderbilt Ingram Cancer Center.
A statement released by the department outlines the reasons she was chosen:
"In everything she does, Lindsay is the epitome of professional. She consistently provides patient-centered care and ensures that while supporting her patients, she will also advocate for the care of the patient’s family. Her heart is genuine and generous. She makes each patient feel like they are her highest priority. This is a challenging time in their lives, and they feel at ease knowing they have an advocate on their team to help them every step of the way. Lindsay has helped our clinic tremendously and strengthened the relationship between the outpatient clinic and inpatient service. She has presented at both TMO and cancer-related Zoom meetings, eloquently speaking to her knowledge and experience. She is an excellent resource of knowledge in all aspects of her position. Although some days are quite tough and busy, she will remain thoughtful, composed, and sensitive in her interactions with patients and colleagues. We are so thankful to have her as a colleague."
