AccessVUMC identity management tool debuts tomorrow
AccessVUMC becomes the new identity management tool for Vanderbilt University Medical Center beginning Jan. 31. AccessVUMC issues and maintains all usernames and passwords for enterprise workforce members.
As IT teams ready AccessVUMC for go-live, the identity management system will experience a temporary outage beginning at 6 p.m. on Jan. 30, and ending at 6 a.m. on Jan. 31.
During this 12-hour period, identity system services will not be available for work force members. This means that account holders will not have access to identity management services (e.g., change password, claim password, manage account, etc.). However, there will not be any interruption in user ability to login and log out of VUMC systems.
The Information Technology project to replace the enterprise identity management tool will occur in phases and the first phase is simple for VUMC:
- There will be no changes to your enterprise username or password; however, usernames will now be called a VUMC ID.
- Enroll in Multi-Factor Authentication to protect your personal information and manage your VUMC account. If you haven’t already enrolled in MFA, visit the VUMC IT webpage for more information.
