Optiflex (point of use) system maintenance on June 17 -- downtime required

Beginning at 1 a.m. on June 17, the Optiflex (VUMC’s point of use (POU) system) database will be migrated to a new data center.

A system downtime will be required as part of the migration and will last approximately three hours. Standard downtime procedures should be used.

• Employees must log out of Optiflex before the start of the downtime and wait for the communication that Optiflex is back up before attempting to go back into the application.
• Computers currently running Optiflex should remain on.
• Employee should use normal downtime procedures until Optiflex is back up. Employees should review downtime procedures ahead of time.
• No changes to functionality are being introduced during this maintenance period.

The migration will remove a critical dependency on a legacy architecture and will provide Optiflex with a more resilient disaster recovery strategy.
