Medical Center leaders express appreciation to everyone who participated in this year's Culture Survey
The 2020 VUMC Culture Survey closed on June 26 with an overall participation rate of 89%. Now, responses are being calculated by the company hired by VUMC to conduct the survey, Press Ganey, and results will be ready to share in late July. This year’s survey contained three elements — patient safety and compliance, staff engagement, and the nursing excellence survey.
“I want to thank everyone who participated in the survey, particularly because it required additional time and attention this year for some segments of our workforce. Your feedback helps us know which areas of our organization are doing well and where we need to improve,” said C. Wright Pinson, MBA, MD, Deputy CEO and Chief Health System Officer. “We will do our best to transform your suggestions into actions that continue to make VUMC the best place to work in health care.”
In July, overall enterprise level results and engagement trends will be communicated to staff along with information about enterprise level priorities, like last year’s topics of pay and career development.
During the month of August, leaders will discuss results of the survey with their teams for further feedback and to plan actions which will continue to improve our workplace. All responses are completely confidential, and no one will see your individual responses.
“We are gratified that such a high percentage of our workforce participated in this year’s survey and are reviewing results to understand where we have made gains and how we can support new ways to improve,” said John F. Manning Jr., PhD, MBA, Chief Operating Officer and Corporate Chief of Staff. “We know that our ability as an organization to serve others starts with listening to voices from across the VUMC Community. The input we received is greatly appreciated and helps shape our organization in the months and years to come.”
