Colleagues, 

On behalf of the Medical Center, I want to extend a warm welcome to Daniel Diermeier, Vanderbilt University’s ninth chancellor.    

After making significant contributions at the University of Chicago, where he most recently served as Provost, Chancellor Diermeier joins the Vanderbilt family and Nashville at a pivotal time.  

Through the historic relationship between the University and Medical Center, we share aspirations that are resulting in ever growing recognition and worldwide impact. And at this critical time, we are facing shared challenges that are reshaping both healthcare and higher education.  

At all times, and particularly at times like these, we are strongest through partnership.
