Receive Notifications for In Basket Messages

Beginning Aug. 30, clinicians can now opt in (via Synergy) to receive notifications of In Basket messages via pager/MH-CURE notifications. Enabling notifications can help prevent delays in care

To opt in for notifications and set preferences:

  • Go to Synergy home page at https://synergy.app.vumc.org/
  • From Profile, select Preferences in left sidebar
  • Select desired notification method for by message priority (High, Routine, Low)

 In eStar, urgent messages are marked as “high” priority (these are interchangeable terms).

Critical Alert Acknowledgement Now in More Locations

To make it easier for clinicians to acknowledge critical alerts, this feature is now available in more locations, including MH-CURE by Mobile Heartbeat.

Clinicians now have multiple places to acknowledge critical alerts:

  • Via personal device using Mobile Alerts (see QR code)
  • Via personal device using MH-CURE by Mobile Heartbeat
  • Via eStar using
    • Critical Alert flag in Storyboard
    • Flag in Critical Alert Column in Patient Lists

 Type in the URL into your device browser to use the Mobile Alerts app on your personal device.

Genetics e-Consult Order

To better facilitate communication between ordering clinicians and genetics specialists, there is now a new e-consult process for genetic test interpretation and genetic test order recommendations via the “E-Consult Service Clinical Genetics Service” in eStar. 

The e-Consult can help address questions about variant interpretation, microarray interpretation, and test ordering recommendations. 

Clinicians should place order via “E-Consult Service Clinical Genetics”. The genetics team completes the consult and sends results back to the ordering clinician via In Basket. See Tip Sheet “Using the Genetics E-Consult Order” (available in Hubbl) for more information.
