Adults with obesity and high blood pressure needed for study

If you are an adult that is obese and has high blood pressure, you may be eligible to participate in a study looking at how a chemical called angiotensin-(1-7) affects blood sugar. This chemical occurs naturally in the body, and we are interested in whether it helps the body respond to insulin and regulate blood sugar.

You may qualify if:

1. You are between 18 to 60 years of age

2. You are obese

3. You have high blood pressure (with or without medications)

4. You do not have any other significant medical problem

5. You do not smoke

This study involves:

  • a screening visit with blood collection
  • 2 study days in the Vanderbilt Clinical Research Center (~ 6 hrs long) with the study drug given through an IV and blood collections to monitor your blood sugar

Volunteers will be compensated for attending the two study days.

If you would like to participate in this study, please complete the initial questionnaire at this link: https://redcap.vanderbilt.edu/surveys/?s=X7CNM9WHT7
