Anesthesiology Research Symposium is tomorrow
The 15th annual Anesthesiology Research Symposium will be held Friday, May 3, in Light Hall and the Student Life Center. The event highlights the current research of the Department of Anesthesiology's basic science investigators, physician scientists, research nurses and medical students.
From 6:30-7:30 a.m. in 214 Light Hall, Y.S. Prakash, MD, PhD, will present the Grand Rounds/BH Robbins Lecture on the topic “Cellular Senescence, Mitochondria and Lung Diseases: Aging at Birth?” Physician-Scientist Prakash is professor of Anesthesiology and Physiology and chair of the Department of Physiology & Biomedical Engineering at Mayo Clinic, Rochester, Minnesota. He is also the incoming editor-in-chief of Comprehensive Physiology (formerlyHandbook of Physiology).
Following the lecture, activities continue in the Student Life Center Board of Trust Room and Boardroom C, with poster presentations and scientific talks.
