CNN producer Michael Nedleman, NPR science desk reporter Susie Nelson,Reuters Health reporter Marilynn Larkin, MedicalResearch.com editor Marie Benz and FiercePracticeManagement editor Joanne Finnegan interviewed William Cooper, MD, vice president for Patient and Professional Advocacy, for a story about his JAMA Surgery study on coworker reports about unprofessional behavior/increased risk of complications in patients.
NBC’s “Today” show quoted Corey Slovis, MD, chair of Emergency Medicine, in a story about dehydration and the importance of drinking enough water in hot weather. The story was updated from several years ago in response to the news that German Chancellor Angela Merkel was dehydrated at a public event on a hot day in Berlin.
Vice posted a story headlined “Climate Change May Be Spawning Flesh-Eating Bacteria in New Jersey” that quotes William Schaffner, MD, professor of Preventive Medicine. Fox News also talked to Schaffner about the same story.
NBC News interviewed Gregory Plemmons, MD, associate professor of Pediatrics, for a story about teen suicide attempts and how to help kids with stress and mental health.
