Possible limitations on ordering controlled substances on July 27

On Saturday, July 27, from 8-10 a.m. CDT, the SafeNet Multi-Factor Authentication (MFA) system, which is used to help clinicians authorize the electronic prescription of controlled substances, will be undergoing scheduled maintenance. During the maintenance window, clinicians may receive an error message when attempting to enter the MFA token. If clinicians encounter an error message, they may:

  • Attempt the e-prescription again a few minutes later
  • Manually print and sign the prescription
  • Phone in the prescription (only for Schedule III and IV drugs)

E-prescribing of non-controlled substances will not be impacted, and MFA functionality will be restored at 10 a.m.
