The Boston Globe, Reuters Health, Cardiology Today, the French publication Le Quotidien du Médecin, the Spanish publication ABC Salud, HealthDay and Medscape were among the news outlets interviewing Meredith Duncan, database administrator in the Division of Cardiovascular Medicine, for stories about her JAMA study that found quitting smoking was associated with a 39% lower risk of cardiovascular disease within 5 years.
Stacie Dusetzina, PhD, assistant professor of Health Policy, is quoted in an Associated Press piece about the slowing pace of price increases of name-brand prescription drugs. The wire piece was picked up by numerous news organizations, including NBC News, ABC News, Business Insider and The Daily Mail.
“NBC Nightly News” producer Alexa Keyes interviewed Jacob Kaslow, MD, a second-year pediatric pulmonary fellow at Monroe Carell Jr. Children’s Hospital at Vanderbilt, for a story about the nationwide increase in the number of teens and young adults treated for severe respiratory injury after e-cigarette use.
Scientific American and Nature published a story into research about whether it improves the health of neonates born by C-section if they are swabbed with their mothers’ vaginal microbes. The piece quotes David Aronoff, MD, Addison B. Scoville Jr. Professor of Medicine.
