Putting Evidence to Work
PCORI prioritizes the dissemination and implementation of its funded comparative clinical effectiveness research (CER) to ensure that new evidence makes it into the hands of people who can use it to make informed decisions about their health.
Dissemination of new PCORI-funded CER results begins with posting short, understandable summaries of all research findings soon after a study’s results are final. PCORI also offers funding opportunities focused on dissemination and implementation of evidence as well as working with communities to develop and disseminate PCORI Evidence Updates and our new Health Systems Implementation Initiative.
PCORI-funded study results are often taken up into resources that further support dissemination and implementation, which patients, caregivers, clinicians, and others look to in making decisions about health and health care. These include consumer-facing resources, clinical decision support tools, practice guidelines, systematic reviews, Wikipedia pages and other evidence-based materials.
