The Health Systems Implementation Initiative (HSII) is a multiyear PCORI initiative to advance the uptake of practice-changing comparative clinical effectiveness research results in care delivery settings.

Through HSII, PCORI provides funding to HSII Participant health systems to undertake implementation projects to actively advance the adoption of new evidence. These projects have the goal of promoting the uptake of specific PCORI-funded evidence in practice.

HSII is intended to facilitate lasting change within participating systems and lay groundwork for broader adoption of evidence-based practices.

HSII includes 42 health system participants. Please explore the HSII Participants webpage to learn more.

Funding Opportunities for HSII Participants

PCORI issues Calls for Proposals for HSII Implementation Projects, providing HSII Participants the opportunity to propose projects to promote the uptake of specific PCORI-funded evidence within their healthcare delivery settings. PCORI anticipates releasing new Calls for Proposals annually.

HSII Participants may visit the funding opportunity webpages below for more information. HSII Participants are encouraged to contact PCORI at HSIIQuestions@pcori.org with any questions about Calls for Proposals. PCORI will update the HSII FAQs to respond to commonly asked questions.

HSII Learning Network

The HSII Learning Network provides a venue for HSII Participants to connect with each other and with PCORI as they undertake Capacity-Building and Implementation Projects. All 42 HSII Participants belong to the HSII Learning Network. Through the HSII Learning Network, HSII Participants regularly meet, engage with each other, access supports such as Office Hours with investigators from PCORI-funded research studies, and offer their suggestions and input to PCORI, for example on potential evidence topics to be the focus of implementation.

HSII Participants may access the HSII Learning Network SharePoint webpage.
