COVID-19 boosters available at Occupational Health for VUMC workforce

Moderna, Pfizer and Johnson and Johnson COVID-19 booster shots have now been approved by the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention. To view a summary of ages and groups now eligible for a COVID-19 booster, visit the CDC website.

Pfizer booster shots are available to all VUMC workforce members who meet eligibility requirements, regardless of which of the 3 vaccines you received for your primary series.

Eligible VUMC employees can receive the Pfizer COVID-19 booster shot at the Occupational Health Clinic located in the Medical Arts Building, 6th Floor Monday-Friday, 7:30 a.m.-4 p.m. Walk-in services are available; no appointment is needed. OHC has Pfizer vaccine as well as a limited supply of Johnson & Johnson booster shots available.

Vanderbilt Wilson County, Vanderbilt Bedford Hospital, and Vanderbilt Tullahoma-Harton Hospital employees should reach out to the Occupational Health resource at your location:

  • Vanderbilt Wilson County – Retha Parker, RN, MSN at 615-453-7232
  • Vanderbilt Bedford – Angel Whitaker, RN at 931-685-8404
  • Vanderbilt Tullahoma-Harton – Janet Baker, RN at 931-393-7944

Employees can also utilize the patient scheduling processes.  Those who are VUMC patients can schedule Pfizer COVID-19 booster vaccines through My Health at Vanderbilt.  Faculty and staff who are not VUMC patients can schedule through VUMC Vax, an on-line scheduling tool.  For more information see Schedule Your COVID-19 Vaccine Today.

Check with your provider for assistance in finding VUMC locations that may be able to accommodate the vaccine manufacturer you need. You can also utilize vaccinefinder.org to find convenient locations that meet your needs.

Because timing of the booster in relation to your primary vaccine series is important, you should bring your COVID-19 vaccine card, or show your vaccine record in the My Health at Vanderbilt mobile app, at the time that you receive your booster shot.

Did you receive a COVID-19 booster outside the OHC vaccination program? Submit your vaccination information to the Occupational Health Clinic here.
