Transgender Day of Remembrance programs are tomorrow

The Vanderbilt Program for LGBTQ Health and the VUMC P.R.I.D.E. Resource Group will be holding a service honoring Transgender Day of Remembrance on Nov. 20 from noon to 1 p.m.

Those lost to anti-transgender violence will be honored by a reading of their names. Afterward, participants will engage in a therapeutic art exercise and discussion. Materials for the art therapy project can be picked up in Light Hall 305 from 9 a.m.-5 p.m. throughout the week of Nov. 20.

For more information, email pepper.j.heifner@vumc.org

This event will be held over Zoom. You can register at: https://redcap.link/TDOR2020. The Zoom link will be sent out the morning of Nov. 20.

Nashville won't be having an in person event like we have had in the past. Instead, in partnership with trans activists in Nashville and Vanderbilt's Office of LGBTQI Life, Nashville will be having a virtual event that is pre-recorded. You can watch the ceremony during its premiere at 7 p.m. on LGBTQI LIfe's YouTube page (link below). If you are unable to watch at 7, the recording will live on the YouTube page indefinitely.
