eStar updates and changes to "In Basket" search feature, Foley best practice

New Folders within Search Feature of In Basket

Beginning Nov. 25, two new folders will appear in In Basket’s search feature. These folders are for delayed and postponed messages. Users can select the appropriate folder, enter the patient’s name, and click “search” to pull up relevant messages.

 Change to Foley BPA

On Nov.18, there was an update to the Foley best practice advisory (BPA) that impacts inpatient users of eStar. The updated BPA will help ensure:

• All Foley catheters have correct and relevant orders associated with them
• Accuracy of lines, drains and airways (LDA) screens within eStar

The new BPA is actionable, in that clinicians may update the order, or send a nursing communication to either remove the catheter or correct the LDA screen (e.g., patient does not have a catheter).
