Reminder from VUMC Post Office: Rates changing Jan. 27

The United States Postal Service will be increasing postage rates on Sunday, Jan. 27.  All Post Offices will open with the new rates on Monday, Jan. 28. The most noticeable change will be an increase in the first-class stamp rate from 50 cents to 55 cents. However, the rate for an additional ounce on a first-class letter will decrease from 21 cents to 15 cents. 

Other rates are either remaining the same or increasing. Postcard and International letter stamp rates are unchanged, while most Priority and International package items will increase by about 4 percent.
