Children 10-16 needed for autism study
The SENSE Lab is currently recruiting children with autism spectrum disorder (ASD) to be part of a study that examines interventions targeting improvement of social skills and social interactions in children and adolescents with ASD. We are looking for boys and girls ages 10-16 with ASD to join our study.
Participation in this study includes:
- Psychological testing, 2-3 hours
- Social interaction and EEG tasks, 1-2 hours
- Enrollment in one of two interventions: SENSE Theatre or Tackling Teenage Intervention, 10 consecutive weeks
- Post and follow-up assessments immediately after and three months following the intervention
Both intervention programs are developed around building social competencies and skills by using typically developing peers as partners to help teach the program. Both programs will hold intervention sessions for 10 consecutive weeks and are directed by a psychologist. A research letter with test results from psychological testing will be provided.
